Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department has set up the holiday decorations for all to see, but would like to share with you some Holiday decoration tips!
*Most decoration fires in homes start with candles or overloaded wiring.
*Test the smoke alarms and tell guests about the home fire escape plan.
*Keep children and pets away from lit candles.
*Replace any string of lights with worn or broken cords or loose bulb connections.
*Read manufacturer’s instructions for number of light strands to connect.
*Make sure the tree is at least 3 feet away from any heat source, like fireplaces, radiators, candles, heat vents or lights.
*Always turn off Christmas tree lights before leaving home or going to bed and ensure to enjoy your family and friends this holiday season!

From all of us to you in our community, Happy Holiday!
