3rd Alarm at Beltsville Condo   By Chief Al Schwartz December 17, 2007   Just after 0830 Units from Beltsville 31 & 41 and surrounding departments were alerted to 11212 Cherry Hill Rd for a report of smoke coming from the building. Engine 411 arrived on the scene reporting a working fire and advanced an attack line to the interior. Due to heavy winds the fire moved quickly from the 2nd floor to the 3rd and then the cockloft area, crews were unable to control the fire on the initial interior attack and were forced to set up for exterior attack and protect exposures. Two MAYDAYS were alerted and crews were quickly accounted for. Four firefighters sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital. This incident went to a 3rd alarm and units were still operation on the scene as of 1700hrs.
