Just before 0200 hours the box alarm was sounded for 14803 Bowie Rd in Laurel for a reported apartment on fire. Rescue Engine 49 arrived on the scene reporting smoke showing from the third floor. After getting an attack line to the third floor it was determined that they had heavy fire on side Charlie with extension into the cockloft area. The request for a second Alarm was made. Engine 311 arrived and laid dual line to side Alpha and supplied Rescue Engine 49 and the crew from 311 advanced a line to exposure building Delta and assisted in stopping the extension. Engine 411 arrived and picked up Engine 781 line going to side Charlie and assisted in exposure Delta. A 3rd Alarm was sounded to assist due to the heavy fire conditions and exposure issues.
