This morning members headed to Culpeper Va. to attend the funeral service of Life member Rodger "Tex" Walker. Staffing a Engine, Ladder Truck and 2 Chiefs cars and County support unit. Once at the church Beltsville members worked with members of the Reva Volunteer Fire Department.
Rodger was a life member of Beltsville Volunteer Fire Department serving the citizens of Beltsville and Northern Prince Georges County for 50 years, he was also a life member of the Reva Volunteer Fire Department.
Thank you for all that attended and thank you to the Reva Volunteer Fire Department for the joint involvement to pay respect to a dedicated member and a friend.
Speaking as another Life Member of Reva Volunteer Fire & Rescue and good friend to Rodger Walcker. I know how much he would have appreciated the great send off he was given. He loved Beltsville VFD. His heart was always with the members there. It was a great honor that your department represented itself so well at his services. I know he is smiling down on you all and you may have lost a life member but you have gained an angel in heaven to watch out after you all. Sending love and hugs to all his friends at Beltsville.
